Crystal Cowboy is a “Shooter Defense” game where you must use your knowledge of the color wheel to quickly vanquish your foes! (Wait... did I accidently make an educational game??)

CONTROLS:

LMB - Shoot

RMB - "Fan the Hammer"

Mouse Wheel - Rotate Crystals

TAB - Bullet Time

Shift - Dash

R - Reload

F - Quick return to regular, crystal-less bullets

This game was made for Pirate Software - Game Jam 15. Theme was Shadows and Alchemy.

Shadows - The enemies in the game are shadows that have taken a physical form in corrupted crystals. The player must defeat them before they reach the gate, destroy it, and wreak havoc on the town! While all enemies can be defeated with regular bullets, it is possible to defeat them quicker. Defeating the enemies will break them into crystals for the player to collect and use.

Alchemy - Players will be able to transmute their crystals into bullets, as well as combine them to create new types of crystals to transmute. To quickly defeat the shadow crystals, the player will need to attack the enemies with the opposite color of the enemy. (For example, an emerald bullet is super effective against a shadow ruby). 

This game is also a test of the player’s knowledge of the color wheel, although there will be some helpful reminders in game for assistance.

Great stuff! The sounds and effects were top notch. Extra points for bullet time!!

I really like the art style and sound design and the bullet time was fun to mess around with.
